Why The Bible Truth Baptist Church In Griffin Georgia Supports The Sherwood Family:
I have had the privilege of knowing Bro. Dan and his wife for about the past eight years. I was his Assistant Pastor before God led me to start the Bible Truth Baptist Church in Griffin Georgia. I have always known them to be very faithful to our Lord and his work. Bro. Dan is the type of Church member that gets involved in everything that the Church is doing. I always enjoyed our fellowship together down thru the years. He is also very gifted by God to play the guitar and sing for our Lord. I have been in many services that God used him and his wife to add to the worship service in a Great fashion. They sing the old time songs that bring honor and Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. I have also known Bro. Dan to be sound in his Doctrine preaching the word of God. He and I have preached together in nursing homes, jails, and street corners down thru the years. He has definitely paid his dues as a young preacher. I always knew him to stand behind his pastor and be faithful. I have had the opportunity to go to South Dakota one time in my ministry. I quickly found out that it was not the Bible belt. It is hard to believe that America could be so desolate spiritually. If you are from the South, and have never been out West it is a different world. Here we are used to churches being on every corner. Even though many of them need Revival, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is still being proclaimed. In the state of South Dakota it is simply not that way. Catholics and other false churches dominate the land. I am so glad that God is still concerned about America. If the Light of the Gospel goes out in America then who will reach the world thru missions? America has without a doubt become a mission field. Bro. Dan needs to be able to go and serve the Lord full time in a place that desperately needs a preacher. Somebody has got to take them the old story that never grows old. Bro. Dan needs to be able to visit, witness, preach, and work the ministry without distraction. His work will be cut out for him when he gets there. It will be hard enough as it is. He does not need to be distracted by a secular job when he reaches the field that God has called him to! You may have heard that the Sherwood family went thru a time of transition here recently. I can assure you that he is working out of a good Independent Baptist Church that is preaching the word of God. We are forced to make tough decisions sometimes in our ministry. Bro. Dan faced a time like that in his ministry and has made some great choices. There is no doubt in my mind and heart that this is a good family. Heritage Baptist Church in Cornelia Georgia is also a good place for a child of God to call his home. Pastor Adam Humphries is a good man of God who loves the Brethren, and preaches the word of God. When Bro. Sherwood arrives in South Dakota he will sing the old songs and preach out of the King James Bible. He will tell sinners to Repent and saved folks to live Holy. This is the kind of missions’ work that I want my Church to be behind. Pastor would you prayerfully consider having this family in to your church. Bro. Dan and his family will be a blessing to your services, as well as a great addition to your monthly missions program for the Glory of God. Pastor would you join in the effort to reach America once again with the Gospel. Who will go to America?
